Over the next couple of weeks I will be running a last minute special. $ 200.00 will get you a 1 hr photo session - online proofing to share with family and friends and all your images on a dvd with a print release. These sessions will be on location sessions and you can pick the location (with-in reason -mileage may have to be discussed for longer trips over 40 miles one way) Please let me know if you are interested, limited sessions available - weekends only!

So today it was just going to be just me and Addison --- Hubby is at work, kids are in school... what to do, what to do....
We headed out to Quintana Beach with our new puppy Shelby. Shelby is a 12 week old Mastiff. Such a sweet girl.

Such a beautiful peaceful day.

Addison is ROCKIN' those boots. Couldn't get her out of the house without them on this morning.

I took some time out tho think about my Dad who served 22 years in the United States Navy. He passed 12 years ago. These are some pictures from his younger years in the military.

When I think of this day, I think of freedom. I think of the people who gave so much for us to gain it, keep it, and honor it.

My Attempt To Make Cake Balls!

So I love to look at other people's BLOGS. One that I follow is Bakerella I love to look at all of the creative cake balls she makes. So tonight I got a wild hair and decided to attempt to make some of these "cake balls" Now about 3 weeks ago I had a few from a local bakery in Pearland TX called The Cakelicious Bakery and they were Yummy!
Sooo here we go... I can do this right?

Cake Balls actually look pretty decent --- Yeah I can do this ... it's a breeze

Hold up --- wait a minute... Why don't mine look anything like the ones I ate 3 weeks ago? Why isn't my cake ball smooth and pretty? This is a big gloppy mess!

UGH! I'm not impressed with the way these turned out!

I had to cover them in crushed cookies and candy just to make them look a little better. - lol HOPELESS

OK so I guess I'll stick to taking pictures and let the bakers do their job. This was too much work! :)
They did taste wonderful though. If you happen to know what I might need to do to make them pretty, let me know :)

Summer time .... Family time

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July! Whether you celebrated your Independence Day with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts or baseball games, I hope you got the chance to share it with family and friends. Of course we spent most of the day with family back home and then made it to our house just in time to see fireworks lite the sky.

We even had time to do a little light writing. I've been wanting to try this out with the kids for a while. Enjoy your week!

Drooling over iPad

Apple has announced their new iPad which is like a giant iTouch (the iphone without the phone part). I think it's almost about the same size as a larger kindle but with an awesome color display. I can think of so many cool uses for one of these little gadgets such as showing client slide shows and videos on a device they can actually hold in their hand. It's small enough to fit in my bag to carry with me and pull out and use anywhere. I have the iPhone and Macbook pro and can't wait to add this little device to the mix. Enjoy your day!

Ashley and Jeramiah came over for a quick portrait session and they brought their children Chloie and Zoie (2 well behaved dogs) with them. Adding animals to a portrait is always interesting. I just LOVED how this session turned out. I said this year I wasn't doing any "Christmas" themed pictures not because I'm being a scrooge, but because I've just run out of time. Of course I've done my Holiday sessions - just not the traditional sessions this year. Now I look at the pictures from the Williams family Christmas session and feel warm and fuzzy all over! :) This was a fun session and I'm glad all the kids were able to come together for Mom and Dad. I was so blessed to be asked to photograph the DSAH Buddy Walk last Saturday. The Down Syndrome Association of Houston had over 3500 amazing people who made this event a success! So many families are helped with the participation and donations of family and friends! As I spoke with some of the families on Saturday I could see the amazing bond that brought them all together. Thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your event. I met so many neat families and the children were truly amazing. EC Mason Elementary Principals Sleep On Roof

Manvel PTO had something special for EC Mason Elementary students tonight. The students beat their fundraising goal of $35,000.00 for cookie dough sales this year. As a reward, E.C. Mason Principals Mrs. Shaw and Ms. Jones had to sleep on the roof of the school. PTO did an awesome job of getting this event together. The kids and the community all enjoyed themselves tonight celebrating with music, popcorn, door prizes and finishing off with a true bedtime story read by their Librarian Mrs. Kerr.

I can't believe the Holidays are right around the corner. Holiday sessions are booking up fast. Weekend dates are the ﬁrst to ﬁll up and I really want to get you in for your Holiday card portraits. I'’ve decided to do Holiday sessions in October & November at an outdoor location near you.

The 2009 Holiday Session is a one hour on location portrait session for $150 and includes:

• A 1 hour premium portrait session at a scheduled outdoor location (to be
determined) for up to 5 family members. Additional family members may be
included for $25 per person.

I had an amazing Sunday morning family portrait session at Discovery Green in Houston TX. Yes it's still extremely hot this time of year even in the morning but we were still able to get some great shots. The boys were such good sports they were dripping with sweat and still smiling. I actually take my dogs to be groomed and babied at The Pink Paws Pet Spa a few times a month. They are extremely good at that they do and you can tell they LOVE their job. Meet little Mason... I love this little guy. So huggable you just want to squeeze him!
He was so good for his mini-portrait session. When Mom said he was picked to represent DSAH, a non-profit organization that provides support and information to the families of those with Down syndrome, I said bring him over for a photo shoot! I'm so excited for them. Mason will be on billboards all around houston so be sure to send me an e-mail if you spot him. Many of you know I have a full time job at a local credit union. Just like most financial institutions these days, we are getting a few repossessions and are looking for buyers. Right now we have a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R……Runs good, but was wrecked and needs seat/fender and few other repairs. We are selling it “As Is”.
We will accept bids thru 8/7/09 with a minimum bid of $3,500.00.

Yes I had to share a few photos of my baby girl! I purchased this Greggy Girl outfit on ebay a few weeks ago and had a few spare minutes to take some shots. I think Miss Addison is finally getting the hang of modeling in front of the camera. This good mood lasted about 5 minutes but that's all it took to get these amazing portraits.

Last week I took my little ones to a new beauty salon created for kids called Snip-its. This place is AWESOME! It's always a challenge to get my 5yr old a haircut. By the time we are done, I'm usually stressed out and he's usually crying. Well not here!
You walk into bright colors and crazy style that kids love. (It's almost like being in a Dr. Seuss book.) Each station has a TV that allows the kids to watch a story or play a computer game while they are having their hair cut. How neat is that! My kids loved it.

Austin left with spiky green hair. (He thought it was the coolest thing)
and Addison left with pink glitter in her hair. She was quite the little DIVA.

Baby "L" was born 6 weeks ago at a whopping 4lbs 13oz. When I first saw the pictures of baby "L" in the hospital I remember how amazed I was at how something so tiny could live in our big world. So I wake up this morning and realize I need a $400.00 background stand for a portrait session I have on Sunday at a dance studio. My mind starts turning and whirling and I decide to call a friend of mine to make a request (OK BEG) for him to make me one CHEAP. (After all I am a struggling artist)
Of course he thinks I'm CRAZY - and he's right - but he was seriously my only hope. It was already too late to order the real 20X10 backdrop stand for this weekend - besides he's talented... right? I do have to give Kudos to his wife who cheered him on and promised how easy it would be for him to make. She even spent the day helping him on my project. Check out the results! Yes I owe them BIG time.

Last Saturday night Manvel Junior High School had "Parents Night Out"
The evening included dinner, auction, and live entertainment from THE GRATEFUL GEEZERS.
I was unable to attend myself but, I heard the night was a total success. I donated a sitting and portrait package ( a $195.00 value) for the auction and smaller package for a door prize. Well, I'm not sure who got the highest bid for the auction prize but I do know that John Bridges was the winner of the door prize. Congratulations John! I can't wait to meet you and your family for your session!

Mr. "D" came over yesterday for his first official pictures. He has some beautiful eyes doesn't he. I was able to do a quick Easter shot with these cute yellow chicks! Too Cute!
